The John Dory fish has long held fascination for fishermen,
with its prominent "eye" marking on the side, fabulous tendril-like
fins and its grumpy expression. I wanted to portray the fish coming
in and out of a diver's line of vision, using complementary colours
for the background rather than the usual blues. Funky texture and
a pearly sheen add to a mysterious rather than literal interpretation
of the home of the John Dory.
